Golf Course

Naturally, the Lookaway experience really gets started on the golf course. After just one round on the Rees Jones designed course, golfers know why it is ranked the 17th Best Course in Pennsylvania by Golf Digest in their latest Rankings. The course is fair, yet challenging. It dares the better golfers, while offering options to the less-skilled players.

The championship course with only 229 members ensures the opportunity to play often, and yet, there are only 15,000 rounds played annually.  As a result, Lookaway has no tee times and no long waits.

Lookaway has four principal tee locations.  From the back tees the course plays to approximately 7,000 yards with a slope of 145.  From the middle tees the course plays to almost 6,500 yards (141 slope), front tees about 6,000 yards (136 slope); and the forward tees about 5,200 yards (129 slope).

SCORECARD

Hole #1

The 1st Hole looking from the Green back down the Fairway. A fantastic opening hole!

Hole #4

The 4th Hole can be a challenge if your drive misses the fairway.

Hole #7

Your work isn't done on the 7th Hole, even after a well positioned drive. The undulating, relatively small green, will challenge your putting skills.

Hole #9

The 9th Hole brings you back to the Clubhouse for a brief rest before you embark on some of the really tough holes of our Back Nine.

Hole #12

A good drive on the 12th Hole will set you up for an easier shot into another undulating green.

Hole #14

The 14th Hole will challenge you from Tee to Green. This long Par 4 is considered by many to be one of the toughest on the course (along with the 18th).

Hole #17

Lookaway's Par 5 - 17th will reward the long accurate drive.

Hole #18

Although Rees Jones would prefer not designating any one hole on the course as a "signature" hole, the 18th at Lookaway will have you talking in your sleep. Many a match has been decided right here!
